Emplaw Online

Ranked as the No.1 site for Employment Law professionals

  • Over 7,000 subscribers
  • Authoritative – includes more than 5,000 pages of cross-referenced material
  • More than 2500 expert case reports
  • Weekly and monthly updates on latest cases,  new legislation, important press releases and more
  • Full precedents help the lawyer determine best form of contract or manual for their clients

The key elements of a subscription to Emplaw Online are:

  • The Law Guide – this extensive guide, containing some 5000 “fact cards”, covers all areas of employment law in extensive detail, with cross references and direct links straight to relevant source material. Obviously rewriting and updating the fact cards is a major, ongoing task, but each fact card has a dedicated “Updates” tab which ensures, by way of a direct feed from the E-PSL described below, that pending such rewriting the latest cases and developments are immediately to hand almost from the moment they happen.
  • Weekly E-PSL – this is a weekly e-mail update newsletter. Primarily it covers all case-law and statutory developments, providing summaries, and links to both the original sources and the relevant parts of the Law guide. To fully enable clients to keep right up to date, however, it goes further in that it also includes high profile or important news stories, details of official publications and consultation papers, and important releases from bodies such as trade unions and the CBI.
  • Precedents – Michael Duggan’s legal precedents are available at a special reduced rate, and subscribers can currently create for themselves an account with Simplydocs for free. Michael Duggan is an acknowledged expert in the field of employment law and his legal precedents cover the full range of documents. Simplydocs provide precedents of forms and letters aimed more, perhaps, at the HR professional rather than the lawyer, to cover an employer’s essential requirements.
  • Cases – by virtue of a special arrangement with the Incorporated Council of Law Reporting, Emplaw Online clients can access official ICR case reports, making either one-off purchases or buying annual full access, whichever best suits their needs.
  • Monthly Newsletter – with broader reporting, commentary and analysis of recent developments.

The website contains numerous other tools and services, ranging from directories of employment lawyers and barristers to a redundancy pay calculator and a cross-reference tool between old legislation and the new Equality Act 2010. It also, of course, contains a powerful search engine to enable easy location of exactly what the client is looking for.
